Miramar is the beach of the capital city of Goa, Panjim. Dona Paula is a tiny hill just south of Miramar. Miramar beach is decked out with a vast spread of sand where the Mandovi River gleefully meets the sea. This area is usually crowded every evening reason being its popularity for recreational activities. Towards the south, around a 2-km stretch of this beach extends till the National Institute of Watersports, at the base of the Cabo Raj Bhavan hillock. A road along this beach is sometimes called Goa Marine Drive due to its resemblance to Mumbai Marine Drive.Miramar is a reasonably safe place to swim. There is a lifeguard at Miramar.
Miramar beach is situated 3 kms from Panaji in North Goa. A lovely Golden beach of soft sand girdled with palm trees facing the blue Arabian Sea, is the nearest to Panaji. Miramar is an urban beach where the Mandovi River meets the Arabian Sea. It is not a safe beach to swim as there is a strong undercurrent.
